Flexible Working for Small Businesses

logo

For small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) getting to grips with flexible work can be problematic. But it may also be crucial to succeeding. And the development of new, flexible small businesses is at the top of the agenda for most regional development agencies.

The Flexwork project is supported by the European Commissions Information Society Technologies (IST) programme. The project aims to provide services to SMEs to raise awareness via their web site  and through events under the patronage of local regional development agencies. The website contains a number of useful case studies.

FlexWork is also working closely with a number of Regional Development Authorities in Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland and the UK so that they can better understand the requirements of small businesses for information about flexible working and to refine its package of support materials.

You can find further details of the Flexwork project from their website, www.flexwork.eu.com

Update: Now available via the website are a variety of tools to help SMEs develop flexible working capabilities.

To use them you need first to go to the website and register through a simple process as a member. You'll then be provided with a password allowing access to the tools and further resources.
