Flexibility.co.uk is launching a
major campaign in 2010 to raise awareness of flexible working -
and most importantly to spread knowledge about how to put it
into action.
And we're kicking things off in
style with a seminar in Westminster on February 24th, with case
studies from both private and public sector, expert panel
session and interactive workshop. Plus the opportunity to
see a range of solutions for implementing flexible working. More

The Integrated Approach
This seminar focuses on how to take a
strategic and business-focused approach to flexible
working. How to develop ‘Total Smart Working’.
Many organisations have embarked on the road to
flexible working. Perhaps this means a focus on
work-life balance, or remote working, or
desk-sharing. But taking forward only one dimension
of flexible working will often fail to deliver the
benefits.
To achieve the full range of benefits requires an
integrated approach – but knowing where to start,
bringing everything together and getting everyone
onside is not always easy.
A practical focus
This seminar will have a highly practical focus.
Topics to be covered include:
- Increasing efficiency through smarter
working
- Reducing property costs
- Creating smart/flexible working environments
- Aligning family-friendly measures with
business benefits
- Reducing the carbon impacts of working
practices
- Technologies for smart working
- Setting objectives and measuring the
benefits.
There will be case studies and guidance from
businesses large and small, ranging across sectors.
Sessions include:
- Central government – a session from the
Office for Government Commerce reviewing
progress in central government and looking at
the future of the government workplace
- Addleshaw Goddard – one of the largest UK
law firms, which has been pioneering flexible
work in this sector
- Islington Council – case study of one of the
most integrated implementations in the public
sector
- Regus – the role of shared smart working
environments
- Further case study tba.
In addition there will be a small exhibition area
where solutions for smart working will be on show,
plus information stand with a range of guidance.
Through the day, experts and delegates will work
to bring together a ‘recipe’ for the integrated
approach – Total Smart Working.
Who should attend:
Senior decision makers in the public and private sectors, especially from
Strategy, Property, Finance, HR, Facilities, IT functions and
managers charged with developing change management and flexible
working projects in their services.
