Flexibility.co.uk has won recognition for it’s
contribution to promoting ‘better working practices’
at the prestigious ‘eWellbeing awards’. The award
recognised the long contribution of Flexibility, and
in particular its role in developing the Smart Work
Network. At a ceremony held at the Royal Society
of Arts in London, Andy Lake and Caroline Oldham
collected the award.

The award was received by Andy Lake and Caroline
Oldham of Ofsted. Caroline coordinated the Public
Sector Home and Remote Working Forum, which merged
into the Smart Work Network in 2007 The
eWellbeing awards recognise achievements in
sustainable and socially valuable use of new
technologies. ‘Better Ways of Working’ is one of 9
awards, also covering areas such as environmental
innovation, independent living and social inclusion.
The awards are sponsored by BT and the public
service union, Unison. Flexibility.co.uk has been
raising awareness about new ways of working and
publishing free resources for over 15 years now. The
Smart Work Network is an initiative of Flexibility
to bring together large organisations developing
smarter ways of working to cooperate and collaborate
in share ideas, issues, problems and solutions.
The Network now has over 200 members from 160
companies and public sector organisations. The
Network at its launch joined forces with a similar
group within the public sector, and has greatly
extended the reach within the public sector. So
there is also an impact in improving public
services.
