The Smart Working Handbook

Summary practical guidance to smart and flexible working

Flexibility.co.uk has produced a practical summary guide to Smart Working.

The Smart Working Handbook aims to provide clear guidance on an integrated approach to Smart Working.  It takes in the key disciplines of People, Property and Technology within an end-to-end framework from Vision through to Implementation.

The sections in the Handbook cover:

  1. The vision
  2. Principles of Smart Working
  3. A new culture for 21st century working
  4. Flexible working options
  5. New environments for new ways of working
  6. Technologies for Smart Working
  7. The human factor
  8. Smart, sustainable and healthy
  9. The business case
  10. Implementation
  11. Moving forward into a Smarter world
  12. Further resources and information

The Handbook advocates and illustrates an evidence-based approach, building up to a clear business case covering the range of benefits and costs.

And it aims to provide a a comprehensive and integrated approach.  Smart Working is essentially multi-disciplinary.  This is why implementations can often fail to deliver the full range of benefits.  It's also why many guides either fail to cover the ground fully, or become too complex.

Written for managers looking to achieve the benefits of working smarter, the Smart Working Handbook sets out the issues and solutions in Plain English.

The Handbook has been supported by a range of companies involved in the various aspects of delivering Smart Working.  They are:

  • Citrix Online
  • HOP Associates
  • Mott MacDonald
  • Peoplespace
  • Plantronics

So, with these supporters/contributors and Flexibility's 18 years experience in the field, the approach is rooted in many years of practical hands-on experience.

We hope you enjoy it and find it useful.
